Sneezy Waters is a great actor as is Dixie Seatle. Every New Years I play this movie. The acting, direction, and camera work are wonderful. Those purists who write that is was not "pure Hank", show me another movie that has all the entertainment, humor, and pathos that this movie has.
But this movie is a classic by anyone's standards. I am by no means a country music fan, in fact I can't stand it. It's a must see and a recommended purchase.
This is the closest thing to being there you will ever get. Thanks Sneezy. Except for not sounding exactly like Hank he was Hank. I swear my uncles were in the audiance , but they are gone now too. This movie will tug at your heart strings like nothing you have ever seen.
The rest of the people in this movie including Sneezy were Real. If you have never been to a country bar not "Counrty Bar", Watch this movie because you have just entered the "Twilight Zone". Sneezy is phenominal too. It shows Hank for what he really was, a poet right up there with Shakspear and Yeats. Yes R Aylor is right the only one acting in this movis was the barkeep.
That is what makes this movie so phenominal. In stead of nameing this "The Show he Never Gave" it might better be called "The show he is giving now", somewhere.
If you like Hank Willliams music, this is a must see. Has all the ingredients you could expect from a film about Hank - from being upbeat, foot tapping joy to entertaining to saddness and trajedy.My only regret is the CD sent to me looked a "Pirated" film copied many times over that produced a grainy, distorted and poor quality one would expect through Amazon that away some of the enjoyment away from the film.I had to send the CD back to Amazon.
All I could ask for from a seller. Shipped on time and good quality. I would buy from them again.
